WATCH our January 2025 Forum: The Future of Forests and Trees in Clark County in Light of Climate Change
For those who could make the live session, we deeply appreciate your attendance at our forum about the future of forests and trees in light of climate change. It is a hopeful sign that we had such a great showing of local residents who took the time out of their evening for this discussion. Now, let’s turn that enthusiasm into action!
As discussed during the forum, you can help save the Dabbler RIGHT NOW with a simple call and/or email to the Office of the Commissioner of Public Lands: 360-902-1000, cpl@dnr.wa.gov.

Here is what FOCC is doing to protect forests and trees:
- FOCC and Legacy Forest Defense Coalition continue our push for the Clark County Council to direct DNR’s management of our forests for the purposes of conservation and carbon sequestration.
- The previous iteration of the Clark County Council made sure to include consideration of site specific requests for surface mining overlays over 2,973 acres of forest land in Clark County. FOCC is fighting against inclusion of these SMOs in the Comp Plan Update.
- We’ve engaged the Clark County Climate Community Advisory Group and proposed improvements to their Draft Goals and Policies regarding forest and tree preservation.
