How YOU Can Help Clark County Return to Local Food Production in the Era of Climate Change: Post Forum Calls-to-Action

1) Take Clark County’s climate surveys. One step you can take right now to support FOCC’s climate priorities, including the importance of local food production, is to take the surveys Clark County just released seeking feedback on both climate mitigation and resilience, and consider reading FOCC’s article on those priorities prior to taking the surveys:

2) Follow and engage in the Comprehensive Planning process and support the formation of an Agricultural Commission. The best way to do this is to follow us on Facebook and Instagram, where we will keep you informed and let you know when and how to engage, as well as how to volunteer with us.

3) Become a board member of Friends of Clark County to help us at this crucial time in our county’s history during the 2025 Comprehensive Planning process. We cannot do this without you! FOCC is especially seeking younger and more diverse voices on our board. Express your interest in an email to info@friendsofclarkcounty.org.

4) Support local farmers with your dollar! Shopping at your local farmer’s market or a local farmstand is a great way to promote the economic viability of farming in Clark County while reducing the emissions from food transport and retaining the highest nutritional content of your food.

5) Fund our movement. Consider a donation to Friends of Clark County and/or plan on joining us for our annual fundraising event, Dinner with Friends, on September 15th from 4 to 8pm.
