LAST CHANCE to Support FOCC’s Critical Work this Year
Dear FOCC supporters,
We are immensely grateful for your support and involvement over this past year. As we come to a close of 2024, Friends of Clark County looks forward to the new year with hope and renewed determination. There are many needs facing our community right now and we need your help to address them.
2025 will be a critical time in the Clark County Comprehensive Planning process. FOCC sponsors public forums and organizes with community members to generate citizen involvement and input during this process. Public participation is vital to ensure that land use policies are equitable, protect our agricultural and forest lands, and improve the quality of life for all residents of Clark County.
We need your help now to make this a reality. Please consider a donation, either monthly or one time, of $25, $50, $100, $500 or $1,000.

Land use planning affects our everyday lives, whether you live near a mine, a farm, have affordable housing, have access to a local park, have safe roads to ride, bike, or drive on, have local farms to grow food, or have forests for hiking, fishing, or camping.
Comprehensive land use planning is the foundation that plays a role in ALL the above.
This year, Friends of Clark County is proud of these accomplishments:
-
Helped establish an Agricultural Advisory Commission for Clark County (passed this November!), finally giving farmers and local food advocates a seat at the table in county government;
-
Working with community-based organizations representing underserved communities in Clark County to boost participation in the Comprehensive Plan Update;
-
Pushing for bold climate action in the Comprehensive Plan Update, including the expansion of local food production and protection of legacy forests;
-
Continuing our legal appeal to stop Chelatchie Prairie from becoming a gravel wasteland and protecting our climate, water, fish and wildlife, and resident health and well-being;
- Continuing to serve as a local news and information hub for land use issues and comprehensive planning in Clark County. We publish newsletters, hold forums, and have active social media accounts that keep residents informed and help them understand how and when to engage in local government
We are excited to see what opportunities 2025 will bring for policy change that departs from business-as-usual and centers the collective well-being of Clark County residents now and into the future.
We hope you’ll support our efforts by making a donation to Friends of Clark County today. Your contribution will allow us to continue this labor of love through organizing, including research, community outreach, drafting Council communications, and taking legal action, when necessary, to protect and enhance Clark County for all of us.
Our goal with this letter is to raise the $12,000 needed to meet our fundraising target for the year and set us on solid footing for the work ahead. We hope we can count on your support and thank you for your consideration.
Warmest regards,
Ann Foster
