GiveBIG to Friends of Clark County!
Hey Friends!
The actions we take every day in our own communities can and do change the world for the better!
Your engagement and financial support has enabled Friends of Clark County to fight for what we all love in these out-of-the-ordinary times. We need sustained resources to keep going, so we have joined the GiveBIG 2025 campaign this fundraising season!
Here is some of the work we do to protect and create a thriving Clark County:
- Advocate directly to Clark County government. FOCC continues to engage with Clark County staff, elected officials, and advisory group/commission processes to push for responsible land use planning and counter industry influence in defense of our farmland, local food system, forests, water, climate, and quality of life. As we reach the final stretch of the Comprehensive Plan update, this work will be more important than ever.
- Extensive community outreach. Our Community Outreach Coordinator—FOCC’s only staffed position—provides regular social media updates, simple breakdowns on convoluted government processes, calls-to-action, our new Weekly Radars, and supports our followers in getting actively engaged. Our social media strategy has also enabled us to bring even more (and younger!) Clark County residents into the fold.
- We take legal action when necessary. While FOCC prefers to influence Clark County the old-fashioned way, via engagement and collaboration, we must defend Washington environmental law in the courts to protect our precious natural resources when necessary. While we have a generous and tenacious pro bono lawyer, the legal costs of filings and clerks fees still add up.
These key strategies together have proven effective—but they require sustained support. If you appreciate FOCC’s efforts to achieve our vision for Clark County, we ask you to donate to FOCC for GiveBIG. The final push is May 6th-7th, so please consider donating today: https://www.wagives.org/donate/Focc
Planting the seeds for a bright future for Clark County in these challenging times is going to require a deeper investment and greater cooperation from all of us. We hope you’ll join us!
Thank you for your support,
Friends of Clark County
