Vision & Mission

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.”

– Mahatma Gandhi, Human Rights Leader

Our Work is Essential to the Future of Clark County.

We are the only organization in Clark County that defends the Growth Management Act.

In turn, we work collaboratively with Southwest Washington community partners and policy makers to improve the quality of life and economic viability for everyone.  We support smart growth that allows for economic development in balance while protecting our precious resources and community assets.  Our rapidly growing urban and rural populations demand visioning and future planning on a whole new level.  We understand deeply that it takes enormous commitment to solve these unprecedented  issues. Civic engagement is essential, which is why we are asking you to join us in our Mission.  We recognize the urgency we face to protect our natural and community resources such as water, local farming and forest lands, parks and trails, and wildlife habitats for future generations.  Since 1996, when we formed Friends of Clark County, we have been planting the seeds of responsible growth to protect these precious resources today and for future generations.

Our Vision

We envision a flourishing Clark County thriving with local farms, healthy forests, clean water, protected wildlife habitats and neighborhoods that are vibrant and diverse with parks and natural areas accessible to all.

Our Mission

To make Clark County an even better place to live, work and raise a family through conservation, advocacy and education.
